What to tell the pro when you call

A two-minute call goes further when you have these details ready. Do not worry if you do not know all of them – the pro will ask – but whatever you can share helps them bring the right equipment the first time:

• What happened – a burst pipe, a failed water heater, storm flooding, a sewage backup, or something else.
• Where the water is – which rooms, whether it is a basement or ground floor, and roughly how deep it is.
• Whether the water is still running or spreading, and whether you have shut off the main valve.
• How long the water has been there, as best you can tell.
• Whether power is on in the wet areas, and whether anyone has been in contact with the water.
• Your city – so you are connected with the closest available pro.

If it is safe to do so, shut off the water at the main valve and take a few photos for your insurance claim before the crew arrives. Never step into standing water that may be in contact with electrical outlets or appliances.

Hours and our office

Phone hours: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – including weekends and holidays. Water damage does not schedule itself, so neither do we. Email is checked for non-urgent messages and is not a substitute for calling during an emergency.

The Houston office coordinates the service nationally. The pros who come to your home are local to your city – that is the point of the network.
